Something Used made New

There are so many great opportunities to buy used clothing for our children. There are basically great consignment sales/stores on every corner. Most children just do not wear out their clothes before they outgrow them. Well don't run from used clothing that is personalized even if the personalization doesn't match your child. It is very easy to cover the wrong personalization up with a frame or patch or applique and then you have a brand new outfit for your child for CHEAP!!!
Here is an example...

These are some frame/patch options:

I don't know why this pict is rotated??? Sorry I'm not a blogger pro - well - just tilt your head a little. These were both made from consignment sale finds.

And this cute Christmas outfit was a sister that needed to pass on down to a younger sibling. Now it can be worn for several siblings. See how cute it is!!!

New items I've been working on

2011 has been a very good year so far. I have several new customers of which I am so proud to have. This business allows me to be at home with my family and to also pick up a little extra play money so I appreciate ALL of you so much. I am always looking for new things to try so if you have any ideas I would love to hear them:) Here a just a few things that I've done recently.

My most favorite thing to do are appliques. I've seen them referred to being "grown up coloring pages" and I LOVE THAT. It is so much fun to take a blank item and with some really cute fabric combinations make a design. Well I've added several applique fonts to my library and they make great name or initial items. They can be put on anything! Clothing, bibs, burps, bags, towels, etc. etc. etc. Below are just a few examples but aren't they just CUTE< CUTE< CUTE!!!

I found these really cute designs that are called "in the hoop" designs. They are completely made in my hoop. One is a cute cupcake that can be made with or without the candle and it has "rouching" for the icing which is gathered fabric or ribbon. REALLY CUTE!!!!! And the next is a quilted key chain. It includes the Monogram. The cupcake design is 20.00 or 25.00 with the monogram and they key chain is 10.00. I love 10.00 designs cause they are great little happies for someone special.

These are called badge reels and are a cute way to dress up your badge - great for nurses or anyone who has to wear a name badge. A new way to use them is to also attach one to your key ring and just slip it over the side of your purse. Then you never have to DIG for your keys again - (Thanks Pauline for this tip).

Well, once again thanks so much for your business and thanks for checking my blog. I appreciate all of you:)

Hooded Bath Towels

These are my favorite items! I make any color towel/ribbon combination you have in mind and they are personalized with a monogram on the hood. These are great for babies up to children - my 11 yr old still uses his he's had since he was 1. The cost is $25.00 each and this includes the monogram.

New things for A Family Affair

I have been looking for new things to do with my Embroidery machine and found a lot of cute applique designs. These are just a few of what I liked but if you have something in mind just let me know and I can probably find it. Most applique's are $10.00 - $15.00 and if you would like a monogram added (name, initial or 3 initials) it would be an additional $3.00 - $5.00. Thanks for looking and let me know if I can help you.
