"Happy Birthday Jesus"

After church tonight we all went to the gymnasium to enjoy a pizza fellowship and afterward we had a Birthday Party for JESUS. Bro. Steve had ordered a really special birthday cake. The oustide was beautiful white covered in crystals- This represented the "purity" of JESUS. The inside consisted of three layers. Brown, Red and Green. The brown layer represented us as "dirty sinners". The red layer represented the "blood" of Jesus. And the green layer represented the "newness" that we can be as believers in Jesus. Thank you Bro. Steve for sharing this representation with us all and encouraging us to be New in Jesus.

Happy Birthday Jesus, Happy Birthday to you!!!!

I have the GREATEST kids!

I teach the 2 - 3 year olds in Sunday School and I have to say they are the GREATEST kids in the world. We love learnin about Jesus, singing songs, blowing BUBBLES, building castles and knockin them down, and most of all - DELICIOUS SNACKS!!!!!
Thanks Rooks Stephens, Thomas Curlin and Cam Barr for making my Sundays so WONDERFUL! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What better way to spend Thanksgiving than camping, huh??? That's what we thought! Mimi, Papa; Aunt Carol & Uncle Dennis; Taylor, Debi, Tayden & Brett; Lora, Charlie, Ashleigh & Trey;l A J, Lisa, Hunter & Anne Alise; Ron, Tracy, Mitchell & Parker; and a friend of Ron & Tracy's - 6 campers full of folks. Well, it was SSSSOOOO cold and windy! Thanks to Mimi and Aunt Carol for their tarps to protect us from the cold! Thanks to Papa for keeping the fires burning!!! Then the stomach virus hit..... Poor Mimi & Lora!!! When we woke up to sleeting on Saturday morning, we all realized it was time to GO HOME!!!!! We all packed up and hit the road! Maybe next time when the weather man tells us it will be in the 30's with wind and clouds we'll believe him!

The kids did enjoy a day of "disc golf" thanks to Mr. Ron. This is Trey and Brett showing their discs.

Fall Picture Fun

While enjoying a weekend with Sissy home, what better thing to do than take pictures. We rode around town enjoying the beautiful fall colors everywhere. It was so much fun... until Trey was READY to go home and play!

Court Square Scarecrows!

Saturday was a beautiful day so we decided to ride uptown and view all the scarecrows from the contest for the fall festival! We invited our neighbors J P & Mary Ashton Barden to go along for the fun! Our favorite (of course) was from the "Russell Dental Group" so the kids decided to pose for pictures with it. This was so much fun and then afterward we went to Sonic for lunch and ice cream.

Our 1st Blog! Welcome!

Things have been really busy for us lately. This summer we sold our house and bought across town on Cannon Drive. This house is not much bigger but just in a much better neighborhood. We live on a Dead end street and Trey is loving being able to ride his bike. He hits the street the minute we pull in the driveway. There are also several other children his age that he is able to play with and they play so well together.

Ashleigh left for college in August - she is at Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS. She is studying Music Education and is loving it. She would like to teach High School music - Michelle Tillman was such a great influence on her during Show Choir in High School. Her email is ashleighelise88@yahoo.com if you would like to send her a note. She would love to hear from you. This is of Ash and Trey on "move in day".

Trey is in the 3rd grade and is doing Great. He made the 2nd honor roll the 1st six weeks so we are excited about that. He has a wonderful teacher - Mrs Linda Norvell - she is very structured and strict - and we don't have a problem about either of those!!! He is playing soccer right now and plays the goalie position.
The weather is cooling down so we will hopefully gets lots of camping weekends in. We love camping @ Chickasaw State Park in Henderson, TN - biking, walking, resting and ... eating!!!!!
More later!
Lora
